Spur Cross Conservation Area
February 27 Saturday 9:00 am Find the Ranger Easy This open-house style program features the park ranger hiking along the Metate Trail and stopping to talk with park visitors. The ranger will have some photos of desert animals as well as some old photos of the Spur Cross dude ranch from back in its heyday. The ranger will also be available to answer questions about the park, discuss park history, and help identify desert plants & animals.

February 28 Sunday 9:00 am Elephant Mountain Fortress Hike Strenuous Join us for a 7 mile / 5 hour roundtrip trek into the backcountry to one of the premier archaeological sites on the conservation area. Participants need to be in good condition and familiar with what hiking on primitive trails for this distance entails. Participants must bring at least one liter of water.
