	Friends of the Scenic Drive Images Located in North Scottsdale, the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive is both a landmark and a preservation effort. Friends of the Scenic Drive, a volunteer organization, is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the Scenic Drive, established by Cave Creek and Carefree residents in 1963. Friends, dedicated to preserving the character and traditions of the foothills area, maintains exhibits, organizes Cookout at the Ranch, conducts roadside cleanups, and publishes an extensive Web site.
