Our CPA firm is searching for a well-rounded and experienced professional to join our practice based in Carefree AZ. The ideal candidate must be able to think analytically in complex tasks as well as see the “big picture” along with a “team player” attitude within our small firm.

For the accounting and tax work, this person will work with our small business clients serving their financial needs. Proficient experience with QuickBooks is required and at least 3-5 years experience in public accounting including both tax and accounting. Duties will also include preparing complex business and related individual tax returns. The candidate must be able to analyze the data we receive from our clients, prepare adjusting entries, balance various accounts, process payroll & payroll reports and perform related activities to prepare the data for the tax return. We have difficult tax returns and very few simple ones.

Qualifications:

Position summary:

The Desert Awareness Committee, a program of the Foothills Community Foundation, and the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) will offer certified training over two weekends in mid-August.  This Certified Guide Interpretive Training Course is designed for anyone in the interpretive field. Interpreters connect visitors to important natural, cultural, and historical resources at parks, nature center, historical sites, aquariums, zoos, and anywhere that people come to learn about places. Whether you are new to the field, refreshing your skills, or starting a new career, this course will aid you in improving your presentation techniques with all ages.

The course will be held over two weekends, August 18, 19 and 25, 26 from 8AM to 4:40PM. Attendance

at all four courses is required for certification.  Registration fee is $230 and there is an additional cost of $150 for the certification.

Answer the Foothills Caring Corps Call for Volunteers to Promote Elderly Independence

Foothills Caring Corps has issued an immediate call for volunteers to help in their mission to promote independence and enhance the quality of life of elderly residents in the Northeast Valley. The 501(c)3 based in Carefree, Arizona loses a significant number of volunteers when they return to their part-time homes during the summer. Foothills Caring Corps needs additional recruits to not only fill the seasonal gap but also to help with the community’s growing need for senior services.

Potential volunteers can attend a monthly orientation on the second Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Caring Corps offices, 7275 E. Easy Street, Suite B103/104 in Carefree.

With numerous ways to volunteer, the Foothills Caring Corps has the greatest need for drivers in their van transportation programs. Through its volunteer force, the nonprofit agency provides a variety of invaluable services including medical and van transportation, friendly visits, mobile meals, shopping assistance and more.

Based on a volunteers’ schedule, favorite things to do and skill set, the Foothills Caring Corps staff will find the perfect way to serve. Current Foothills Caring Corps volunteers report a flexible and highly rewarding experience easy to fit into a busy schedule because of multiple ways to and assist.
